1899–1900 WPHL season

The 1899–1900 WPHL season was the third season of operation for the Western Pennsylvania Hockey League. Four Pittsburgh-area teams competed in the season, in which all games were played at the Duquesne Garden. While the Pittsburgh Bankers were added to the league and began play, the season marked the final year that an amateur team representing Western University, played in the league. The Pittsburgh Athletic Club repeated as the league champions, for their second league title.

Notes

  1. The Bankers protested their January 30 game vs. DC&AC, charging that DC&AC player Ardagh was ineligible. The league decided that the result of the game would be nullified if it affected the standing of the clubs at the end of the season.[1] Although the order of the standings was ultimately unaffected, the Pittsburgh Press and Post disregarded the game anyway, subtracting a win from the DC&AC (changing 6 to 5) and a loss from the Bankers (changing 9 to 8) in their final standings.[2][3]
